Let’s try 実況中継トレーニング together!!

実況中継トレーニングは普段見る景色を、声に出して描写するトレーニングです。

What we will do in this training is that we are going to describe what we see dividing into three categories.
このトレーニングでは、私たちが見たものを3つのカテゴリーに分けて行います。

The reason why we are going to create these categories is that so we can make the sentences easier and smoother.
なぜ、このようなカテゴリーを設けるかというと、文章をより簡単に、よりスムーズにするためです。

But once you get used to making sentences, the categories are not needed.
ですが、文章を作るのに慣れてきたら、これらのカテゴリーは不要になります。

Let’s briefly take a look at three categories together.
簡単に3つのカテゴリーを一緒に見てみましょう。

カテゴリー1

Focus on a person/people.
人に注目する。

Observe what the person or people are doing or wearing and phrase those observation in English.
人や人々の行動や服装を観察し、それを英語で表現してみましょう。

カテゴリー2

Focus on things.
物に注目してみます。

Try to spot the things in the scene
そのシーンの中にある物に注目して、

describe where it’s located what this thing looks like.
それがどこにあるのか、どんな見た目かなど説明してみましょう。

カテゴリー3

Focus on your feelings and thoughts.
自分の気持ちや考えに注目します。

Looking at the scene
シーンを見ながら、

what do you feel
何を感じるのか

what thoughts comes up in your mind
どんなことが思い浮かぶか。

Let’s express all those things in English.
それらを全て英語で表現してみましょう。

I think these categories are something that we are naturally mumbling in our head, normally in Japanese. But we are going to force ourselves to say them in English!!
これらのカテゴリーは、普段は日本語で、自然と頭の中でつぶやいていることだと思います。
ですが、それをあえて英語で言ってみるのです!!!

By repeating this training, it’ll strengthen our skill of creating the English phrases, faster and smoother!!
このトレーニングを繰り返すことで、より早く、よりスムーズに、英語のフレーズを作るスキルを強化することができます!

After this training, please keep on doing it whenever you capture a scene that you felt like you have something you can say!!!
このトレーニングの後、あなたが「何か言いたいことがある！」と感じたシーンを目にした時、どんどんやってみてください。

This time I chose a very Japanese but very unique picture!!
今回は、日本らしいけど、とてもユニークな絵を選んでみました!!!!

カテゴリー1 Focus on PERSON/ PEOPLE 「人」

「顔をペイントしている男性達がおみこしを担いでいる」

Men with face paints on are carrying a portable shrine.

おみこし = portable shrine

「1人の男性が、ちょっと苦しそうな顔をしている」

One of the man’s face looks a bit pain full.

「男性は全員同じ柄のシャツを着ている」

All the guys are wearing the same printed shirts.

「数人の男性は、頭に紐を巻いている」

Some of the men has rope tied around on their heads.

「1人だけふわふわの髪をした女性が先頭にいる」

There is only one girl with fluffy hair leading in the front.

人物についての文章を作るときのポイントとして、誰かに「あの人見て！！」っと話しかけているのをイメージしながら、その人物のわかりやすい特徴から順番に並べていきましょう。

例えば：黄色いペイントを塗っている男性の特徴を説明するとしたら。
There’s a men with face painted yellow with blue around his eyes, standing in between the guys, opening his mouth and speaking something.
顔を黄色いにペイントして、目の周りを青く塗って、男性たちの間に立っていて、口をあけて何か喋っている男性。

色んな特徴を見つけて、文章を作ってみましょう！

カテゴリー2 Focus on THINGS 「物」

「おみこしに、いくつかの鈴がついている」

There are a few bells on the portable shrine.

「おみこしは白い紙の飾りで、飾り付けされている」

The portable shrine is decorated with some white paper decorations.

「後ろに魚釣り用のような船がある」

There’s a boat in the back what seems like for fishing.

what seems like = 〜のように見える
確信がない物を説明するときに使える表現です。

「海は落ち着いてみえる」

The ocean seems steady.

「落ち着く」は、他にも calm, waves looks quiet と表現することもできます。

「おみこしを抱えている人達の後ろに防波堤がある」

There’s breakwater behind the people caring portable shrine.

防波堤 = breakwater

物の名前が分からなかった時、単語力を増やすチャーンス！その場でサッと携帯などで調べてみましょう！一層脳裏に残るはずです！

カテゴリー3 Focus on FEELINGS & THOUGHTS 「気持ち・考え」

「この顔のペイントは、何のためや？」

What’s the meaning of this face paint?

「後ろのスキンヘッドの男性は、顔ペイントのこと聞いてなかった感じ？」

Did the bold guy in the back missed the memo about the face paint?

miss the memo = 知らなかった、聞いてなかった
「そんなの聞いてなかったよ」と言う時にも “I didn’t get the memo”っと使うこともできます。

「真ん中の人達の方が重そうな感じがするけど、どうなんだろう？」

Looks like the people carrying in the middle are feeling the weight more, no?

「なんで海のなかでおみこしを担いでるの？」

Why are they carrying the portable shrine in the ocean?

「女の子が1人だけってなんか、かっこいいかも！」

It’s kinda cool that she’s the only girl in here!!

長さは関係ありません！自分の感情なので、カチッとした言い方にする必要はありません！
思ったことをどんどん文章にしていきましょう！！
