Let’s do another pattern phrases together. Woohoo!
新たなパターンフレーズを一緒にやりましょう。イエーイ！
In this one we’re going to go over the phrase “What’s up~?” Yeah.
今回は”What’s up~?”をやりたいと思います。イエイ。
And we’re going to take a look at this phrase in four different groups
4つのグループに分けてこのフレーズを見ていこうと思います。
one is greeting what’s up
一つは挨拶のwhat’ up
and then another one is asking about well-being what’s up
そしてもう一つが調子を聞くwhat’s up
and another one is asking about plan what’s up
それから予定を聞くwhat’s up
and last one is what’s up with something something. Yes.
そして最後にwhat’s up with~です。イエス。
And the meaning of what’s up is

Alright so from here let’s take a look at phrases together

挨拶のwhat’s up
Alright the first group that we’re going to take a look at it is greeting what’s up.
最初に見ていくグループは挨拶のwhat’s upです。
And then to this you could answer like this.
これに対して、こんな返事ができます。
And then to this you could kinda answer like this.

Alright last one of greedy what’s up. Here we go.
挨拶のwhat’s upの最後です。行ってみよう。
And then to this maybe you could answer like this.

調子を聞くwhat’s up
Alright so let’s move on to group two asking about well-being what’s up. Here we go.
ではグループ2、調子を聞くwhat’s upに移りましょう。行ってみよう！
What’s going on? Tell me.
なになに？教えてよ。
And the reason could be like this.
きっと、理由はこんな感じかもしれません。
Let’s celebrate together!!
Are you okay? What happened?
大丈夫？何があったの？
And sometimes some people don’t like to be bothered when they’re crying so you could answer like this.
人によっては、泣いている時はそっとしておいて欲しい人もいると思うで、そんな時はこんな風に答えられるかもしれません。
Alright last one of group two. Here we go.
ではグループ2の最後です。行ってみよう！
Like, what is up? What’s going on?
えっ、何があったの？何が起きたの？
Usually things like this happens unexpectedly, so maybe you can answer it like this.
こういうことは、大抵予測していない時に起こるのでこんな風に答えられるかもしれません。
予定を聞くwhat’ up
Alright group three. Let’s move on to asking about plans what’s up. Here we go.
ではグループ3。予定を聞くwhat’ upに移りましょう。行ってみよう。
Wow. Fancy.
すごいじゃん！おっしゃれ〜！
And I’m guessing usually answer is like this.
そして、多分私が思うに答えはこんな感じだと思います。
That’s why I’m all dressed up.
だから、お洒落（？）してんの。
Any plans going on?
なんか予定あるの？
You want to tell me?
教えてよ〜。
And usually my answer is like this.
私の答えは、大体こんな感じです。
Alright last phrase of group three
では、グループ3の最後のフレーズいきましょう。
asking about what the person is doing right now
その人が今何をしているかを聞くことができます。
but it’s gonna be a little bit different phrase
でもちょっと違うフレーズなんですが、
but let’s take a look at it
でも見てみましょう。
What you doing?
何してんの？
And usually my friend answers like this.
私の友達は、だいたいこう答えます。
What’s up with~?
Group four what’s up with something something. Here we go.
グループ4 What’s up with~です。行ってみよう！
You alright? You feeling okay?
大丈夫？なんか気分悪いの？
And when you ask this question usually the answer you get is this.
こういう質問をすると帰ってくる答えは大体こうかもしれません。
I’m fine. Nothing happened.
えっ、別に。何もないけど。
Jeez.
最悪。
What is up with this weather, man!!
てか、この天気なんなの！
And if you guys are talking about unexpected rain then you can respond to this phrase like this.
そして、予測していなかった雨に対してのコメントであればこんな風に返答できるかもしれません。
Jeez. Oh my god. Now I’m all wet.
うそでしょ〜。びしょ濡れじゃ〜ん！！
Is he all right?
彼、大丈夫？
Why is he so pale? He’s got no color on his face. What’s up with him?
なんであんな真っ青なの？顔に血色ゼロじゃん。どうしたの、彼？
And then to this maybe you can respond like this.
これに対して、こんな返事ができます。
Oh my god. He looks like he can punch someone or something.
やだやだ。なんか誰か殴っちゃいそうな勢いやん。
And usually I like to avoid people who’s like really looking angry so I would answer like this.
そして、私はできるだけ怒っている人とは避けたいタイプなので、こんな風に答えると思います。
Drives me crazy.
もう、頭が狂いそうだ！
And most likely you’re saying this line to yourself so afterwards you can continue saying like this.
だいたいこれは、自分で呟いている言葉だと思うので、このあとこんな風に続けられるかもしれません。
Alright so now let’s do the last phrase. Here we go.
では最後のフレーズをやりましょう。行ってみよう！
Why are you looking like that?
なんでそんな感じなの？
Like what’s up with that face?
なんでそんな顔してんの？
A lot of times when you ask this question there’s nothing going on so you might get a respond like this.
この質問をするとほとんどの場合、別に何も起きたわけではないので、こんな答えが帰ってくるかもしれません。
